3rd May Over a year from last update .. and several years from latest English version! We have been "taking it easy" with the dog hobbies, Riina has been showed few times with nice success but our own dogs are just enjoying the spring! All five are doing fine. Last year Diva entered two shows but no trials for big girls, and this year can also be rather quiet as we are too busy with everything else (renewing the living room etc).
25th Dec. Diva celebrated today her 5th Birthday!
17th Nov. Dear Aatu celebrated today his 12th Birthday and still no grey hairs :-) Diva's sons Robin and Cisse have been Fanconi Marker tested prob. CLEAR/NORMAL! Cisse was also the best male basenji at Finnish Cup-list (invitation competition for the best lure coursers of the year, will be held next spring).
18th Oct. Diva's son Robin won BOB, CC, CACIB & BIG-3 in Martorell INT, judged by Mr Janusz Opara (Poland, LIWANG)! With these points Robin finished his Catalonian Champion -title :-)
9th Oct. Diva's son Robin entered the World Winners 2009 show in Bratislava, and was placed 3rd with Excellent in his high quality class - congrats to daddy Echo & half-sister Hanna for winning the both WW-titles with BOB & BOS!
4th Oct. Diva's son Robin was BOB, BIG-1 & BIS-2 in Fira de Barcelona Open Show!
6th Sept.-2nd Oct. Almost a month in Salla :-) It was once again a great vacation, beautiful views and also the we also saw much more birds than last year!
20th Sept. Diva's son Robin was BOB with CC & CACIB in Gibraltar!
5th Sept. Vantaa, judged by Mr Primoz Peer (Slovenia) - Riina was 2nd in her class with Excellent and was also part of BOB-breeders group, but no bigger success this time. We didn't enter the big ring as we had to leave to Salla early in the morning ....... :-)
29th Aug. Tervakoski INT, judged by Mr Geir Nordahl Pedersen (Norway) - Riina won again the Intermediate Class with Excellent, but didn't get placement in BB ring. Congrats to Germany where Diva's half brother Jaro (Bulldobas Blockbuster) won the Best In Show at German Specialty and also Best Gait!
27th Aug. Diva's son Robin was shown in Portugal winning BOB & CC at Estoril national and BOB, CC & CACIB from international show!
22nd Aug. Diva's son Cisse won today the Finnish Lure Coursing Championship with his 4th CC & title SMM-09!! :-) He can't take more LC CC's during this season, so now we are just waiting for next year and the final CC for LC Champion title. Cisse has also been eyetested totally clean (J1).
15th Aug. Finnish Sighthound Club Specialty in Mustiala, judged by Mr Arno Foss (Norway) - Riina won the Intermediate class with Excellent and was also Best Bitch with her 3rd CC (from Finland) :-) Riina was also part of Bulldobas breeders group which was chosen as Best In Show breeders group!
25th July Diva's son Cisse entered today to Mikkeli INT show, and he won his class with Excellent & got ResCC!
17th-20th July After couple of years break we decided to go to Sweden for some dog shows. Our group included me (Katja), Tiina and Eija with 3 basenjis: Riina, Neela (Diva's niece) and Rene. Trip went fine and we also survived from Stockholm's traffic .. first on Saturday we entered Köping INT, judged by Mrs Ann-Mari Haugsten (Norway). In males Rene won his class with CQ and was BD3 with CC. In females both Riina and Neela won their classes with CQ, Neela weas BB2 with CC so congrats Tiina for brand new Swedish Champion :-) After the show with burned skins (it was HOT) we drove to Sala, where we had rooms booked from hostel at the silver mines (Sala Silvergruva) - we were the only guests so we had looot of space :-) On Sunday after the breakfast we drove few kilometers to the show place, where Swedish Basenji Club Specialty was held. Judge was Mrs Ing-Marie Hagelin (Sweden). If the Saturday was sunny and hot, it was raining on Sunday. Entry was 29 puppies, 32 males and 52 females .. unfortunately puppies & veterans were in other ring so we were not able to see all the dogs even that wanted to. Some of Aatu's progeny (kids, gr. grandkids etc.) was also entered and it was great to see them! In males Rene was 2nd in Intermediate class with HP, winner of that class Aatu's gr.gr.grandson). In females Riina won again the big Intermediate class with CQ and Neela was 4th in Champion class and ended up also as BB4. Riina was best non-placed bitch so she won the CC :-) Riina was also chosen as BIS Intermediate! For some reason the wondering-trophies were not given so we left Sala's centrum to find some food and after that to get some sleep .. in the morning we left to Stockholm at 4:00 in the morning. Huge thanks to Tiina & Eija for a nice trip :-)
5th July Hyvinkää, judged by Mr Harto Stockmari (Finland) - Riina won again the Junior Class with Excellent and was finally Best Bitch and BOS and got her 2nd CC! :-) Thank you Tiina V. for handling Riina in Best Bitch ring! Added some new pics of Diva and Riina.
4th July Tuusula, judged by Mrs Sylvie Desserne (France) - Riina won the Junior Class with Excellent and ended up as 3rd Best Bitch with ResCC! Thank you Ari for handling Riina in Best Bitch ring!
1st July Diva's son Cisse passed his second "group-run" fine so now he has the track racing license! Aatu's grandkids have had great success again, Bulldobas Akia Amare 'Bobi' won the Finnish Veteran Championship -track race competition and got title VMR-09, and in Rovaniemi INT-show Fin S CH Bulldobas Adofo Amani 'Ami' was BOB and BIG-1! The younger half-sister of Bobi & Ami, Fin CH Dakarai Tingeling 'Tiuku' was BOB in Hämeenlinna. Congrats to Tiina, Marita, Rami & Sanna-Maija! Also Aatu's kids are still doing fine, his daughter (S CCH) Yulara Gwai-Billa was BOS-veteran last weekend in Borås!

13th-14th June Again a great weekend for Diva's kids: In Finnish Basenji Club Specialty Show at Nurmijärvi basenjis were judged by Mrs Kay Eldred (JEBELMARRA) and entry was 39 puppies, 47 males and 50 females. Cisse did great and was 3rd in Junior Males with Excellent, and later he won the wondering-trophy "Tigers Cup" being Best Brindle/White Male in Show! Riina won the Junior Bitches and was also 3rd Best Bitch in Show (and best Finnish bred bitch), gaining again a ResCC! In Spain Robin took BOB, CC & CACIB in Castellon INT - Robs needs only to get Excellent from next Obligatory Show (November) to finish his Spanish Champion -title :-) Huge congratulations Vanessa! 7th June Today our friend Janne came here for a visit with his new puppy .. super cute brown GSP boy Takapellon Rölli :-) Rölli is Neida's 4,5 mths old "little-brother" out of MultiCH Avaline Esko x Fin HuntCH Takapellon Tessa. Pics of Rölli can be seen here! Added also couple new pics of Diva. This weekend Diva's son Robin was shown in Vic (Spain), and again he won BOB & CC!!

24th May Helsinki INT, judged by Mr Tapio Eerola (Finland) - Riina was handled superbly by Salla Lindgren and she won the Junior Class with Excellent and was BOB-Junior! In Best Bitch she placed 2nd and got again a Res-CC. The ring was in the morning and it surely was a long wait until the *huge* BIS-Junior ring started, but Riina showed beautifully and was placed in best 12 under Norwegian judge Mr Leif Herman Wilberg! This weekend there was also the biggest show in Spain, Talavera de la Reina INT. There's only two "Obligatory Shows" in year and dog needs to win a CC from one of them to gain Spanish Champion-title. Diva's son Robin competed first time in Open Class (dog needs to be over 15 mths old to be able to compete from CC in Spain) and he did wonderfully by winning BOS, CC & CACIB and is now also qualified to Crufts 2010!! HUGE Congrats to Vanessa & "Bobini"! Judge was Mr Espen Engh from Norway, famous sighthound specialist who gave sister Riina BOS & CC in December at the Finnish Winner -show ... even in other sides of the Europe judge surely knows what he likes :-)
21st May Lure Coursing -competition in Kajaani - Cisse did it again! Second race, second win and second CC!! Mama-D is soooo proud of his wonderful stripey son :-))
10th May Lure Coursing -competition in Lieto - Diva's son Cisse won the race and got his 1st LC CC!! Entry in basenjis was 9 and Cisse got very good points: 494. Second in race was another "first-timer", Aatu's great-grandson Dakarai Au Chocolat. Huge congrats to Marika & Cisse for the flying start of the Lure Coursing -career!
26th April Lahti INT, judged by Mr Walter Schicker (Germany) - Riina won the big Junior Bitch class (7 entries) with great critique and she also got ResCC! Tiina also presented BOB-breeders group so Riina also made it to the big ring where kennel Bulldobas was chosen among 7 best groups (out of 36 breeders groups). Yesterday in Vaasa INT Riina's brother Cisse showed well and got VG2 from Junior Class (only 3 males got excellent from American judge) - next time Cisse will be seen at Lure Coursing -competition! Robin-brother who moved to Spain has started his show career very well, gaining 6 x BOB-puppy, 3 x BOB-junior and 4 x BOB. In Spain Juniors can't compete from CC's. Robin has also "seen the world", besides Spain he has been shown in Gibraltar, Luxemburg, France and Portugal!
25th April Aatu's offspring has succeeded very well in Sweden - this weekend at Skåne Lure Coursing gr.granddaughter (S CCH) Shahrans Rafhaela In Pj's "Triss" won and her half-brother Shahrans Jingle Bell Rock "Rocky" got a CC. In Köping show Triss's sister Shahrans Moondance to Karimba "Hanna" was BOB and finished her Swedish Champion-title! BB2 & BOB-junior was Hanna's lovely daughter Karimba's Molly Moon "Molly", who last weekend at her first LC-competition took the 1st place & CC. BOS-puppy in Köping was Yulara Mayati, again one of Aatu's gr.grandkids. Last year in Sweden's "Basenji of the Year" -competition Triss was again The Lure Courser of the Year (like she was year 2007) and sister Hanna was 2. best, Rocky was Top Winning male-puppy (show) and Molly was Top Winning Puppy! Tiina imported Triss's handsome brindle-son Shahrans Little Lure Wise In Pj's in February - we will be following Jippu's career with great interest :-) Updated Aatu's offspring -page with new pups born last winter.

14th March Tampere INT, judged by Mrs Elisabet Janzon (Sweden) - Riina was 2nd out of 7 junior bitches with Excellent and got a ResCC!
16th March Neida gets 3 years old today! She has started to develope in body but in mind .. hmm .. maybe she has grown a little bit :-)
1st Feb. Piitu celebrates her 10th Birthday - still going strong! :-)
25th Jan. Riina & her sisters turn 1 year today - happy birthday everyone! Today was the annual meeting of our hunting club and Arto was chosen as Member of the Board.
