Takapellon PIITU

Piitu was a girl with wonderful temperament, always ready for action. A beauty who was always so happy and willing to please. We miss her so much. Piitu was excellent hunting dog, who just got better with age. From "gun-shy" puppy she was trained into a dog you could always trust, and who competed successfully in hunting trials, retrieving competitions and dog shows with proud attitude.

Piitu wasn't shown very much but she did very well gaining several ResCC's and BOB-veteran wins. She had beautiful outline, wonderful gait and lot of spirit. Piitu started her hunting trial career at 6,5 years old, her best result was 2nd Prize in Winners Class. Piitu was a dog who retrieved "anything from anywhere", and year 2006 she won Club's retrieving championship. Here are Piitu's "highlights":

  • Field trials: 1 x 2nd pr. Winner Class, 1 x 1st pr. Open Class, 2 x 2nd pr. Open Class,
    1 x 3rd pr. Open Class
  • Dog shows: 4 x BOB-veteran, 3 x ResCC, 1 x ResCACIB
  • L-S KKH Club Champion in Open Class field trial 2006 (silver medal year 2005)
  • L-S KKH Club Champion in retrieving 2006 (bronze medal years 2005 & 2007)

Piitu's sire C.I.B Fi Est CH Fi Hunting CH BaltW-98 Toihani Jimi was the first GSP male in Finland to gain both International Champion & Hunting Champion titles. Jimi's father was German import. Piitu'a dam M-99 Netta (1st pr. in Winners Class) won the Riistakoira-competition (Finnish Championship) year 1999 and also was part of International Tema of SSK. Year 2004 Netta was awarded bronze medal of the Club for the success of her offspring. Netta's sire was Norwegian import. Piitu had 2 brothers and 7 sisters, 8 dogs entered field trials and 6 was awarded in them.
