Esittely



We are "thirtysomething" couple living in Somero (South-West Finland). We bought a old farm here in summer 2004 when Arto graduated as Engineer, and we could leave Helsinki behind. So we have lot of work in repairing the house, all kind or projects and dogs .. when we have to work too! We also bought another house in 2006 from Salla (in Lappland) - driving from home to there is about 1000 km to one direction so unfortunately can't go there every weekend - but most of the holidays are spent in that direction. We also have one "summer place" in Myrskylä. Just waiting for the retirement days ... ;-)

As you can propably guess from these pages, our hobby is dogs and working with them, including hunting, training, trials & showing. Arto also loves fishing so he's at the sea or lake whenever it's possible. We have also been part of Club actions, Katja was member of the Board in Weimarinseisojakerho - Weimaraner Club of Finland ry years 2005-2008 and Arto is member of the Board in our hunting club Rasi Ry.

Oldest one of our dogs is 12-years old basenji male Aatu (BISS Int Fin S N Nord CH Bulldobas Whipper-Snapper), gentleman full of dignity who loves sleeping and eating :-) Aatu was neutered autumn 2004 when we had already 2 females and life wasn't too easy when they had season. Sedond oldest is German Shorthaired Pointer Piitu (Takapellon Piitu), 11-years old lady. Piitu has just gotten better every year, and we used her in trials & shows at the older age too. Aatu and Piitu lived happily together, and then in March 2004 we got a Weimaraner bitch puppy from Sweden - Nessa (Scuba's Hot Scotch) is now six years old. Nessa is truly a versatile hunting dog. She has all the CC's from the shows and now she just concentrates on practical hunting and tracking. She's in police records as official tracking dog (wounded deers & elks) of our area. Next winter Arto got sudden "basenji-puppy-fever" - really surprising one, as he has always told that after Aatu there will be no basenjis in our family ;-) So we drove to Muurame to see little "Ilona" who Tipi had left home from her latest litter .. and then we drove back with sweet little girl whose name was then changed as "Diva" (SBOS Fin S CH FinJW-05 EuJW-06 Bulldobas La Scala) - and she truly is daddy's little princess :-) At the dog shows Diva has had a wonderful career and she has also tried Lure Coursing gaining two CQ's and Coursing Champion title of our Kennel District. Now Diva is waiting that she gets old enough for Veteran classes :-) In March 2006 Piitu's halfsister Tessa got her 2nd litter and one of these puppies was reserved to us - Neida (Takapellon Nieida) is beautiful and good sized bitch who has enormous hunting instincts and potential for everything. Neida's trial career started at autumn 2007 and she gained 1st prize in Youth Class from the first competition and 2nd prize in Youth Class from Junkkari! She will continue her career later. Last winter Arto wanted "again" :-) a new basenji so in Feb'2010 we picked up from Tiina a little rascal called Eve (Bulldobas Court And Spark).

We also have one "outside member" in our dog family - Diva's beautiful daughter Riina (Fin CH FinJW-08 FinW-08 Bulldobas AmberElla) who started her show career very nicely and already finished her championship in 1st possible show! Riina lives in Kuusjoki at Arto's parents & Unto The Cat.
